The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops statement on Catholic Schools sets forth: “By equipping our young people with a sound education, rooted in the Gospel message, the Person of Jesus Christ, and rich in the cherished traditions and liturgical practices of our faith, we ensure that our students will have the foundation to live morally and uprightly in our complex modern world.”   In keeping with those thoughts and in conjunction with the mission of Valle Catholic School, Dr. Thomas Stanley, MD was welcomed to the school recently for his 11th annual pro-life presentation.

Dr. Stanley, a pediatrician with a practice based in Jacksonville, Florida, is a strong pro-life advocate who has become a powerful voice for the least vulnerable in society, promoting the pro-life message to both his Jacksonville community and schools and Valle Catholic School.

Each year a portion of Dr. Stanley’s pro life message touches on various themes in his classroom visits which include showing the students models of an unborn baby at each of the different stages of development, fetal development, and the uniqueness of each individual. With the high school students, Dr. Stanley also discusses different abortion procedures and life-science decisions.
This year Dr. Stanley visited shortly before Christmas and reminded the students that “Christmas is about gifts – both giving and receiving.  God gives us the greatest gift of all, his son Jesus. The gift we give back is our lives….putting everything aside putting Him on top.”

Dr. Stanley reminded the juniors and seniors who will be traveling to Washington DC to participate in the March for Life of the importance of their journey and to never lose sight of the most vulnerable in our society.
