*Marking National Dental Health Month

Paula Grass, from the Ste. Genevieve County Health Department, visited Valle Catholic Preschool recently to mark National Children’s Dental Health Month.

Paula talked to the students about how to keep their teeth healthy and clean. She  brought in models of teeth and toothbrushes to teach the students how to brush stressed the importance of brushing at least 2 times a day for 3 minutes each time.  She spoke to them about what foods and drinks are good for their teeth.
At the end of the presentation each student was given a toothbrush, a sticker and coloring pages.Each February, the American Dental Association (ADA) sponsors National Children’s Dental Health Month to raise awareness about the importance of oral health. NCDHM messages and materials have reached millions of people in communities across the country.

Developing good habits at an early age and scheduling regular dental visits helps children to get a good start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums.
