Re: Help Needed and a Few Important Announcements

Dear Parents,

I have been trying to find a time to have our “Homerun Derby” as part of our “Homers for Health” initiative. However, as we get into May it is almost impossible to come up with a day where some students are not on a field trip or athletes have to leave early for a game or competition. As a result, there is not away for us to host the derby at the end of the day before the finals in Forest Park on the 16th. As a result we will have the derby at 9:30 in the morning on Monday, May 12th. If you have time and would like to witness the event, you are most welcomed.

On Friday, May 16th Valle Catholic Schools will be hosting “Field Day.” As was the case last year, the high school field day will be sponsored by the High School STUCO and will take place at the City Park. This year, grades k through 8 will simultaneously participate in a field day hosted by the Middle School STUCO. We will begin with a prayer service at 8:10AM. Grades 3 through 8 will then move down to the Khoury League Park and grades K through 2 will remain on the desert for their activities. Fun games will be played from 9:30 to 11:45. We will all then gather on the desert for hot dogs and chips before dismissing for the day at 12:30. We are looking for volunteers to either help supervise a team, supervise a game, or help grill dogs and serve food. If you are available, please email me @gilliganm@valleschools.org and let me know what you would be willing to do.

Finally, I would like to let you all know that on the last day of school, May 30 we will dismiss at 11:50 AM. Lunch will not be served that day. Bus service will not be available on the afternoon of the 16.  No am/pm bus service on May 29th or 30th.

Peace,

Mark Gilligan, Ph.D.

Principal, Valle Catholic Schools
