Many in Ste. Genevieve have followed the story of Sam Santhuff, also known as “Super Sam.” Sam, formerly from Bloomsdale whose family now lives in Fulton, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer at the age of 5.
His nanny, Natalie Koch, was a good friend of the Ste. Genevieve community and a Valle parent for many years. With Sam’s diagnosis, Natalie opened her heart and shared Sam’s story with us. Sadly, Sam lost his battle with cancer last Friday. His funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 24.
To honor Sam’s courage and extreme faith, Valle Catholic held a prayer service followed by a balloon launch.
