Learning Support

Valle Catholic Care Team

The Care Team is a team of professional staff representing a variety of disciplines that provides students with additional academic and/or social-emotional support. This Care Team process is based on systematic data collection and analysis, consistent documentation and consideration of all relevant and available information. The Care Team will collect and analyze data to: 

  • Plan for students, including determining (or designing) appropriate interventions for both academic and behavioral skill development.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of interventions. 

  • Support staff in their implementation of interventions, data collection, and data analysis. 

  • Suggest referrals for additional assistance, assessment, or services if needed. 

The Care Team will collect data consisting of existing educational information, staff input, data collected through the intervention process, and when necessary, data from individual student assessments. 

The Care Team will obtain parent acknowledgement before a student enters the Care Team process. This might include a request for any and all relevant information about their children, including outside professionals and/or agencies.

Learning Consultant Role:

  • is a certified teacher and specializes in exceptional student needs

  • provides 1:1 or small group intervention or enrichment based on student needs

  • pushes into classes and/or works with students individually

  • provides test or assessment support

  • creates Individual Student Plans (ISPs) in collaboration with parents, teachers, or other support personnel to ensure that individual learning needs are met and appropriate accommodations or modifications are provided.

  • is the liaison for testing and services provided through Ste. Genevieve R-II

  • organizes all student documentation 

  • communicates with parents regarding student learning needs and progress

Mrs. Susan Zoughaib
Title I Teacher

Title I Teacher Role:

  • provides specialized support to help students strengthen their reading skills and achieve academic success. Through small group reading intervention, Mrs. Zoughaib works with students who need extra assistance in areas such as phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension

  • assesses students' reading levels to identify specific needs

  • develops targeted lessons/activities to address individual skill gaps

  • creates a supportive and encouraging learning environment to build confidence and foster a love for reading.

  • monitors progress regularly to ensure growth and adjust instruction as needed.

  • collaborates with classroom teachers and parents to provide consistent support and align strategies.

This part-time role is funded through Title I funds provided through Ste. Gen R-II Public Schools. Services offered are dependent upon the amount of Title I funds available to Valle Catholic Schools. Mrs. Zoughaib is contracted through the Catapult Learning company.
