The Computer Applications program is designed to provide the skills needed in the use of application software on a computer. Applications covered are HTML web design, JavaScript, and Python programming.

Intro to Business
An introduction to the business concepts, practices, principles, and ethics and techniques used in managing businesses. The topics such as business environment, management, organization, marketing, finance, ethics, business law, accounting, and data processing are introduced and examined from a management/owner perspective. Also an online interactive app is part of the class. Students will be building a business from the ground up. Examples of businesses are retail malls, sports arenas, production lines, hotels and restaurants.

Personal Finance
Explores the role of the consumer in our economy, problems of financing family and individual needs, including budgeting, banking relationships, borrowing, insurance, risk management, real estate, investing, portfolio management, retirement and personal taxes.

Accounting I
An introduction to the accounting concepts, principles, and techniques used in recording business transactions. The accounting cycle, the measurement of income and valuation problems, reporting of financial position and results of operations for business enterprise are explored.

Accounting II
This course emphasis continues to be on the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to the recording and reporting of financial information, the underlying theoretical foundations of accounting, and the analytical skills of corporations and the offering and reporting of public issued stock.

Media Production
This course explores production studio and field practices in the development of emerging forms of digital media and communications. Students will work individually and in teams to produce the school’s yearbook, as well as new media projects using a variety of different methods and technologies. Areas of investigation may include desktop publishing, video production, and podcast creation.
