Election Fever is high as Americans go to the polls to elect a new president/vice-president along with other state and local officials. Valle Catholic Grade School is no different and is observing Election Day with prayer services, mock elections, campaign posters, lessons about the political process, and wearing red, white & blue.
The students learned about symbols of our country and even some odd White House pets! It’s been a fantastic red, white and blue celebration at Valle.
Here are some photos of students praying for the candidates, our country and for those winning the elections. Students decorated their halls in patriotic colors and added persuasive posters and articles.
Students in Middle School voted on their favorite Oreo flavor. In a close contest, mint won with 41 votes. Cinnamon had 34.
1st & 2nd Graders voted for one of three activities: sundae party, Lions Club Park visit, or popcorn & a movie. Here are photos of 1st & 2nd Grade voters, ballot, registration cards, and results.
Mrs. Wood’s Kindergarten class had a snack election”. On their ballot they could vote for one of three candidates:
Apple
Carrot
Popcorn
The Apples won over Popcorn by a slim margin (7-5). The Carrots did not get any votes. We did find out if that if the Carrots would have had a running mate “Ranch Dressing” maybe someone would have voted for them.
Happy Election Day!
