100 of anything is special! Celebrations and observances commemorating reaching the 100 mark occur throughout the world.
People everywhere observe the end of a century or a millennium, and the dawn of a new era. In American  politics, presidents and other political leaders are often judged by  their actions during the first 100 days of their administrations. Towns  celebrate their centennials of existence.
Learning to count from 1 to 100 is a milestone in the life of a  young learner. One hundred corresponds to many things: it is a new  column in the place-value system; it is a dollar’s worth of pennies;  it is 10 times 10; it is getting all the answers right.
Happy #100!!
