Each year high schools in the St. Louis Archdiocese select a senior for this award.

The award was established to honor the memory of the late Archbishop John May who was dedicated to the service of those in need throughout the archdiocese.

Archbishop May’s motto on his Coat of Arms was “Co-Workers with the Lord.”

The school nominee should be an example of commitment to community and school service as well as the desire to work for social justice.

Each recipient also wrote a personal prayer, and Grace’s prayer is attached.

Dear Lord,
Thank you for giving me the heart, mind, and soul to follow You in my acts of service. I hope to positively impact someone through my service today, tomorrow, forever. I hope that through my continued drive to do service that I can inspire someone else to find the love of service I have achieved.
Amen.

After graduation Grace will continue her studies at St. Louis University.
