Spreading Christmas Cheer

To get into the real spirit of the season, fifth graders at Valle Catholic School decided to ‘adopt’ a preschool class at Columbia School in North St. Louis for Christmas.

Christmas for Columbia Pre School 2013 (1)

The teacher of the class is Julie Anne Kirchmer, daughter of Valle fifth grade teacher, Theresa Kirchmer. Valle students, taught by Amy Wood and Theresa Kirchmer, sent in wrapped gifts marked ‘boy’ or ‘girl’. Gifts were delivered to the St. Louis school by “Frosty the Snowman”, Theresa Kirchmer’s nephew.

Julie Kirchmer sent a thank you to Valle fifth Grade students and parents for the generosity and thoughtfulness shown to her students.

Another project involved making cards for a little five year old being treated for cancer. The boy, whose name is Sam – loves Super Heroes and is referred to by his nurses as “Super Sam”. Valle students made cards for Sam and will continue to pray for him during his treatment.
