Youth Spring Plein Air, sponsored by Valle Catholic Schools, was held on May 7th and 10th. The Event is open to all youth of Ste Genevieve County and beyond. Youth Plein Air Awards were funded by Larry and Donna Marler, the Ste Genevieve Art Guild and Ste Genevieve Downtown Renewal Group. Many thanks for their continued support.
There were seventy participants this year. Prizes and Medals were awarded to these Valle students: Third Place age 16-18 Abby Fischer, VHS, who chose watercolor for her painting. Third Place 13 to
15 Gabrielle Meyer’s watercolor.
Peter Roth, VGS, was awarded First Place 9 to 12 age group with his pencil drawing, Molly Bahr, VGS, Second Place with her watercolor painting and Third Place was captured by Mary Roth’s colored pencil drawing. First Place for the age 4 to 8 awards was presented to: Payton Heberlie for his ink drawing.
All of the youth really put their best creative effort forward. The drawings and paintings were exceptional. Thanks to the youth who participated and to the parents for providing the younger group the opportunity to experience painting in our ‘world outdoors’. Congratulations to all of the award recipients and a big ‘Thank You’ to all of the youth who participated. Mary Ann Roth of the Ste. Genevieve Art Guild judged this year’s Plein Air Event.
