Valle Alum signs with the Gateway Grizzlies

Valle alum (Class of 2009) and SEMO grad, Cole Bieser, recently signed a contract to play for the Gateway Grizzlies. The Grizzlies, based in Sauget, Illinois, compete in the Frontier League. Cole is the son of Steve and Diahann Bieser.

Cole’s Senior Season @ SEMO:  Cole capped his career hitting .417 during the 2014 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, earning him All-Tournament honors. He is a career .266 hitter and played 182 games in a Redhawk uniform.

During his senior season, Bieser started all 57 games in centerfield. He was primarily Southeast’s two-hole hitter. Bieser ended his senior season with a 25-game reaching base safely streak.

Bieser stole 14 bases in 2014; he stole 15 the prior season. He finished with 37 in his four-year career. He is tied for seventh in the career stolen bases category. He is tied with his teammate and cousin, Jason Blum.

Valle Career: Played centerfield and second base at Valle Catholic High School under head coach Judd Naeger… Earned First Team All-State Coaches Poll, First Team All-State Media Poll, First Team All-Conference, KTJJ Dream Team, and Senior Athlete of the Year accolades… Captured Second Team All-State Coaches Poll and First Team All-Conference honors as a junior… Also played football and was a First Team All-Southeast Coaches and Second Team All-Conference Defensive Back his junior year… Was a scholar athlete his sophomore through senior seasons.
