On Thursday, November 7, 2013 the Archdiocesan Region 6 Schools attended a Mass with Auxiliary Bishop Edward Rice at Our Lady’s in Festus. Valle Catholic was represented by the 8th Grade class. Also attending were 8th Grade Religion teacher, Mrs. Jan Weiler, Pastor Rev. Dennis Schmidt, Associate Pastor Rev. Greg Klump and Valle Catholic principal, Dr. Mark Gilligan.
The Most Reverend Edward M. Rice has served the Archdiocese of St. Louis as Auxiliary Bishop since 2011. Bishop Rice holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy and a Master of Divinity Degree.
Bishop Rice is currently Bishop in Residence at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary directing the Cardinal Glennon College Seminary program of formation.
