Kindergarten and first grade students at Valle Catholic celebrated the 50th Day of School with “A Day in the 50’s.” Teachers and students dressed in 50’s attire to celebrate on the top floor of New Valle.
The students learned a lot about life in that era by visiting each top floor classroom and participating in a different activity. They played games such as hula hoops, marbles and jacks, learned about 50’s icons in the game “FIFTY,” a 50’s version of Bingo, visited a malt shop and had soda floats.
They looked at Valle yearbooks from the 1950’s, watched episodes of Leave It To Beaver and Dennis the Menace. They attended their first sock hop learning dances and enjoying music from the 50’s.
1st Grade teacher, Mrs. Donna Herzog even brought her old roller skates and roller skated up and down the hallway!
The students and teachers had a rockin’ good time!
