During the Valle Catholic Book Fair, a grade level coin competition called “Reading is a SPLASH!” was held. The prize was an opportunity to participate in water relays with Principal, Mrs. Jill Metzger and some of the staff. The 4th Graders collected the most coins (over $600.00!!) and the water relay was held Wednesday, May 16th.
The school collected over $1,300 in coins school wide, and can’t wait to purchase new books for our libraries!!
The teacher water relay team consisted of 4th Grade teacher, Mrs. P Basler, Mrs. Metzger, Ms. Grass, Mrs. Kirchmer, Mrs. Blair, Mrs. Gegg, Coach Naeger, Mrs. Drury, and Administrative Assistant Miss Jamie.
The water relays ended in an all-out water fight but a fun, wet time was had for everyone participating and watching.
As an added bonus to winning the “Love our Libraries Coin Challenge”, Mrs. Metzger treated the 4th Graders to KONA Ice.
