As part of the 2014 Ste. Genevieve Garden Walk (May 17 and 18), the Ste. Genevieve Master Gardeners conducted a Youth Birdhouse/Bird Feeder contest.
According to contest rules all youth of Ste. Genevieve ages 14 and under were eligible to participate. Birdhouses/bird feeders had to be functional and built to be placed outside with the purpose of attracting a particular species of bird. Awards were given to the judges’ top five choices in the youth category. All award-winning birdhouses were made by 7th Grade students at Valle Catholic School.
