Valle Catholic High School hosted a four-day summer volleyball camp for girls in
grades 5 through 8 who attend grade schools in the area. Sixty-two girls
attended the camp, which was held July 21 through July 24. The seventh and
eighth grade camp ran each morning from 10:30 to 12:30 and the fifth and sixth
grade camp ran from 12:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each afternoon. The emphasis of the
camp for both age groups was on learning fundamental volleyball skills,
teamwork, and the importance of good sportsmanship. Nancy Fischer and Carla
Basler, Valle High School’s volleyball coaches, directed the camp. More than 30
of the high school volleyball players, freshmen through seniors, also assisted
during the camp.
